The problem is basically sometimes it works fine, sometimes it does nothing. Seems completely random, although it tends to always work if I press Auto first thing in the morning, it waits till the car warms up if it cold out to blow hot air, or blow ice cold A/C depending on the temperature.

All the buttons work fine, for example if I press Auto and it should be blowing air on the floor and it does nothing. If I press the floor button it will blow down there. Nothing is clogged or jammed. It's like it just doesn't know what to do sometimes.

If on Auto it needs to blow cold air from the vents it always works, only seems to have a problem with heating issues. Any ideas?

I have swapped EATC's (had to steal the nice 95 unit from the red 92 before I sold it :D ), both did the same thing

Run the self diagnostic found here and check the thermistor behind the SHO logo in the dash. They tend to get coated with dust and dirt. I think the sunload sensor only has to do with A/C functions.

I know on the Auto position, it will wait until the coolant is 100F to start blowing hot air. Not sure if this helps you or not. :)
