Just got an auto dimming mirror from a late 80s Continental. The mirror has two sets of pins on its back. The first, a set of 3 pins, is mirror power, mirror ground, and mirror reverse sense. The second, a set of 2 pins, has a cover over it. Does anyone know what these 2 pins are for?

When i put my auto dimming mirror in the car as well, it was a while ago.. one of the wires is ground, ignition and maybe constant, i'm not sure though. One of the covers on the back of the mirror isn't used. As far as I knwo, the mirror does what it needs to on its own, since it is from a continental, the extra wire might be for the high beam auto shutoff that was connected to the mirror. I used a mirror from an areostar. I can go out an look and refresh msyelf. I wired it into the sunroof wires. Just don't strip the wires toward the windsheld.. :bonk: :bonk: ... i had a trip to the auto glass shop after i installed my mirror.

The second set of pins is not for the automatic high beams. There is an additional sensor underneath the mirror mount for this purpose.
