OK my tranny is slipping badly. It has fluid. It seems to be ok up to about 2k rpm but then after that it slips bad. The rpm can go upto the redline but the car goes no where. The car does the same thing in 1st and 2nd gear. Do you think maybe the whole tranny is bad or could it be the torque converter? I was barley able to make it home today. Also it seems to do better if its cold but once it even starts to warm up it acts up. Iv also noticed sometimes it shifts lates, like when I was a stop light, light turned green I was taking a left so I only got upto about 25 or so and the rpms when all the way up to 4500 before finnally shifting and I didnt punch it, it was a slow climb to the 4500

Well, I gues I should have said to check the fluid level first.

Cracked forward pistons usually shift okay for a few minutes when cold (depending on how large the crack is), but drop to neutral when the fluid warms up and thins out.
