There are you tube videos of Gen 2 cars accelerating, you can compare those to your car

The ATX trannys are not that strong from the factory, if you abuse them, they will fail sooner than they should. Just be prepared to shell out funds for a rebuild. If you treat them right and do all the maintenance, they will last over 300K (NoSlo has a 93 ATX and he is on his original transmission). My 94 ATX is on the second rebuild, first one at 85K and the second at 125K. Shosource at one time had a rebuilder that would beef up the ATX transmission, but I don't think the option is there anymore. You could contact them to see if they can still get the Road Ripper 1000

IT's a crapshoot. Go fast = $$. The design is barely enough to drive it like you want. If it was mine I would drive it easy off the line and push it after it gets a little speed. I had to do that with my GenIII and it made it to around 200k miles. When the tranny started to go I got rid of it. That engine was still strong af though. I do miss driving that thing

I wonder if your secondaries are not working, search for IMRC to see how this sensor works. The butterfly's are open when the car is off, but they close when you start your car. There is a small lever in the middle of the butterfly's that you can pivot up to close the butterfly's, see if it moves after you start the engine

It looks like there is a power issue. Is there a reason the car stops pulling near 4k? are the secondaries opening? THe car at wot should hold the shift longer, however if you let off the gas it will probably shift. If you are not lifting off the gas maybe the engine not performing correctly sort of does that for you. OR the transmission is not shifting correctly and you can't build up power from early shifting. Or the reve limiter in P and N is also about that RPM also. Very strange

1st guess check secondaries
2nd guess air/fuel/spark

how would i even fix it thinking the car is in park or nuetral? side note: car refuses to start in park, need to shift to neutral to turn it on

Maybe some of this post will help.

Did you try rocking the car to make sure the gear engages and stops the car? Sometimes vehicles don't register Park correctly.

sometimes it registers and engaged park but always need to shift into N to start even if it registers park

Sounds like a bad neutral safety switch

Also if that module is not operating correctly on the transmission tha could affect all manner of shifting. I would think there should be a tran s code somewhere though.

If there is/are open vacuum leaks and the secondaries can't open, the car won't run correctly. The secondaries should have 1 location on each bank of intake butterflies. Should look like an oblong flying saucer with a hose barb coming out. Each bank has secondary butterfly valves to open the second set of runners. You need good vacuum and they can get sludgy and maybe need some cleaning/****. I never had issues with mine other than maybe a hose rotted and replaced.
