atx shift problems need some help please

I Recently Blew My Spider Gears All Over The Road And Had To Put A Newer Tranny In My 93 Atx The Only One I Could Find Was A Used One And I Bought The Year Parts And Labor Warrenty With It I Had My Local Shop R&r The Tranys And Fill With Synthetic Tranny **** When I Got It Back It Shifts Fine When You Drive It Normal But When You Are Rolling Or Slowing Down For A Stop Light And The Light Changes And Go To Go Again It Acts Like It Slips But Here Is The Thing It Also Does It When You Want To Shift Down Fast I.e. Punch It The Motor Revs Up First Then The Tranny Shifts Really Hard Then Goes But It Shifts Fine After That And Under Normal Driving Conditions If You Drive It Easy It Does Fine The Only Other Thing Is When You Put It Into Reverse Or Drive There Is A Pause Till It Shifts The Tranny Has 115k On It And The Wrecking Yard Put A New Filter And Gasket On It And Did A Visual Check It Has Set For God Knows How Long Dry Before I Bought It They Have Another One I Could Have Put In At No Charge Any Thought Or Ideas Of My Problem Would Help Thanx Mike

Anyways, you most likely got a bad transmission. That is the chance you take with junk yard units. A prime example of why I will not install them here.

yes bad trans , take it in asap read below you'll understand

I went through the samething I got several used , exactly as you described , exept I blew the first. Got it exchanged and I blew that one too. Got a 3rd and blew 4th gear then 3 , taking it back to the shop I blew 2 then 6 blocks out 1 blew and parts all over the place , got ****** a lot of cussing later got another trans put in , that one blew a hole the size of a soft ball , enough was enough got my money back and had a professional transmission shop redo my trans $4200 later and the trans is still perfect.

I almost forgot , do not pick up your car unless they replace your torque converter and flywheel , insist on seeing those parts new on the vehicle just before they install the new trans , had I done that it would of saved me $300 1 month later.

The torque converter was part of my rebuild , the flywheel came new from advance autoparts for $35 and was a ford unit ... explain that one? Anyways had I opted for their flywheel they wanted $175 and I knew I could get it cheaper.

I paid 2500 for a rebuild on my atx.

I paid about $2800 for a brand-new-from-ford tranny & install. I have no idea if the trans-go was installed or not... back when I blew it up, I didn't know near enough about these cars... it was a good tranny shop, though, came highly recommended.

Thanks For All Your Help Guys... There Are Some Periods For The School Teachers In Here Hehe..just Needed Some Advise On My Car Not Grammer...the Wrecking Yard Refunded My Money In Full. I Guess They Didn't Want To Deal With It. And They Let Me Keep The Tranny In My Car. It Does Fine Till I Wanna Slam Down On The Gas. So I Have To Baby It Till I Can Get It Rebuilt.
