I just got my '94 SHO back from getting the auto tranny rebuilt due to now reverse. Anyways the trans seem to shift OK but the car generally doesn't seem to have the same off-the-line performance as before the rebuild. I ran the EEC test and it came up with 111 for the KOEO and 632 on the KOER.

The 632 is just the OD button not working right?
I know I'll have to deal with this but it shouldn't affect my off-the-line performance, should it.

It might be my imagination but first gear seems higher than before. Could the shop have put in some different gears or maybe a lower stall converter. I used to be able to smoke the front tires from a standing start but now it isn't even close.

Any ideas?

Maybe it's just me, but usually if I pay for a service or repair and either don't get what I paid for or the quality of the service is questionable, I usually go back to the company that provided that service to get the problems corrected to my satisfaction. Perhaps that would be a good place to start...

That is being done. I'm posting this to get the opinion of the sho experts on this forum. Somewhere, from taking my transmission apart, rebuilding it, and putting it back in, my car lost alot of power. the motor runs and sounds just like it did before. It would be great to get any ideas from you guys, being that i'm not even close to an expert on this subject, and if anyone has rebuilt an atx let me know what could go wrong?!?!

Thanks

Check the operation of the secondaries on the intake. It could be as simple as an unplugged vacuum line or electrical connector to the accumulator and solenoid on the rear of the intake. Could be many things, but that's a place to start.

I had the same problem with mine when I bought it, it had just had a new clutch put in and the shop forgot to plug the electrical connector back in for the secondaries. It ran smooth but was very slugish until 4000 RPM.

I looked around back there, and can;t see anything unplugged. How could I tell if This is the problem, and not something to do with the transmission/torque converter?

hey guys
The person who rebuilt the transmission probly gave you a low stall converter and this Car needs a high stall converter.

I thought that too, so I got him to put my old re-built torque converter back in. didn't make a difference at all. could my loss of forward thrust be because of something wrong with the way they rebuilt the transmission itself?, or more likely something to do with the engine (vacume line etc.)

Sounds like some internal transmission fault to me. Have the guys who rebuilt it take a look at it.

I agree. I ran the codes, had the torque converter replaced, the engine runs/sounds fine, the only think different is the tranny rebuild. Just for interest sake, has anyone else had a similar problem?
