i know that the atx trans never holds up to the sho motor, but is it possible that all i need is a torque converter? i dont have any problems while i'm in gear except for if its in drive. i have problems shifting from 1st to 2nd but while in drive 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th shift ok. i have no reverse, and it is quite annoying, so do i need to rebuild, replace or just replace the tc

There are more problems than just the torque converter. Do you have torque converter lock up? Drop the pan and see how much metal is on the magnet...

No reverse can sometimes be the **** tube that pops out. But it sounds like you have other problems.

Sorry. Build it right, and never have to do it again.

I too can build the bullet proof SHO transmission. However, basement style prices will not happen here... :sun:
