I posted a thread several months ago concerning my 95 ATX that has and intermittent overdrive. I pulled the consol last weekend and checked the wiring, everthing looked new and connections were valid. Does anyone have a schematic or can tell me where the connection is located on the tranny? It decided to freak out on me last weekend coming home from the street races at the speedway and I was runnin down 2 mustangs on I-15. I had to back down cause I ran out of rpm's  but I got her up 120mph and she was real smooth.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. 68 days since my last break down

Do you have 4th gear? If not, remove the overdrive servo located on the drivers side of the tranny. Easy access if you remove front wheel. 3 8mm bolts hold the cover in place. Remove the bolts evenly or you may break off the mounting tabs. Chances are that the C-Clip has broken off.

If the C-clip was broken it wouldn't work at all. Are you sure your not experiencing a TC that won't lock up in cold weater, then when it warms up it will?

It doesn't necessarily have to be for the TC to fail and not lock up. While you are on the highway, is their any change when you turn OD on or off? That would signify whether it is just the TC unlocking or your tranny shifting down.

Just a note: When my tranny started to go south its first symptom was no OD..that was with 142k, and it was all down hill from there.
