Okay, so i am planning on doing either a bullitproof atx or an mtx swap in the spring. The thing is is my tranny is shifting like garbage right now and im throwing a code for the vss. I'm startin to get real sick of the little green cel and was thinking i could swap the good vss off my parts car to my car. The thing is is i have been told that i need to remove the tranny too be able to replace the vss. Is there anyway that i can possibly do this while it is still in the car, just so that i can drive it for the rest of fall and through the winter? If this is in fact possible, how would i go about doing it?:oogle: Thanks in advance guys:thumb:

Im in the same boat - I need to access mine because its leaking fluid onto the Y- pipe (Read - Catalytic Converter) and causing people to run away when I pull up to get gas. LOL
I have a subscription to Alldata and found the service procedure for the VSS. It involves a lift and removing the Y-pipe. PM me with your e-mail and I'll send you a "snapshot" of the page.

If you do a quick search, there is a way to change them by removing the back motormount. I changed mine by laying on the engine and reaching down to do it all by feel. Anyway you cut it, it sucks.
