Sorry it took this long to answer back, been busy last few days. My brother-in-law lives in Clute. He also went to Brazoswood. He was wondering what years you attended. His name is Joe Turner. Brothers are Jack and David. Don't know if you know them or not. Funny you should mention the Mesquito festival. Seems right now would be the perfect time to have it. I believe it is held in August or October? They were out and biting like mad this past weekend. Oh by the way, there is a repellant called Muskol. Works better than Off. Clute, Lake Jackson, Richwood, Freeport, and Angleton have all ( exuse the term) growed up. I thought they were just little towns. Not anymore. I don't know if you read in an earlier post of mine about Clute having a SHO police car. It is a GEN 3. Dark Blue with dark tinted windows. Only way you know it is a cop car, has small lettering on front bumper and rear. AND DO NOT TRY TO OUTRUN THIS BEAST!! It is very fast. They only bring it out when they have a car chase. It has never lost a chase. Don't know where they get their money from, but all their cop cars have modded engines. Not just the police interceptor motors. Rumor has it that the Chevy's are running modded LS1 motors. Not sure what the Fords run, but they are just as quick. Just to give you an idea. Don't know if you know where the old Burger King used to be on Business 288. Or Plantation road. There was a dispute at BK of some kind. And this guy took off, heading west on Bus. 288 towards Richwood. The officer was on Plantation atleast by a mile. Call came in, the officer said he would take it. He caught the guy before he got to Richwood. People say the cop was doing atleast 150 mph on Bus. 288. IF you remember the area, do the math. That car hauled major butt. Well that will do it for now. Just wanted to post something since I had three days off the computer. thumbs_u

Funny you should mention that there are still SHOs being used by the cops down there....some years ago, I lived in Pearland, and would go to Freeport for the beach. Anyway, I saw a SHO DPS there. Never saw another one and it had the "Police Grill" with air induction cowl hood really bulged Gen I,,1990.

I was a buccaneer from 77-82. I remember some Turners however, the one I remember was a female. In fact our reunion is this summer.

I didn't realize that Clute had bucks...*boggle* yeah, the mosquito festival I have attended a time or two. They should have it earlier in the season, or is that a test bed for malaria?

Anyway, not that I would run from the cops, but I bet that my supercharged sho would give them a run for their money. wink
