ya as the title says im going to try and run 18psi. the story behind the change is that i ran into a problem with my current setup, i blew a few piston rings. well now instead of doing just piston rings i got a great deal on another supercharged sho with alot of nice goodies on it. well i plan on putting the 3.2 low compression motor into my car with an t-trim vortech. the car has alot with it but just in pieces. what kinda things should i look out for or get to make this car run to its maximum potential. so far to name somethings off of the top of my head is that it has a quaifed tranny, wide band o2s, big bores, ported intake runners, low compression pistons, 3.2 converted, stage 1 street cams, tweecer rt, and a vortech s-trim charger that i sold to get a t-trim. what else do i need to look for?

thanx for the help, corey.

Nice Corey I can't wait to see this beast once it's completed. What is the difference between standard 02's and wide band 02's? Well keep me informed on the project. I haven't driven my car since last time I saw you because I have been sick all week. Oh well the car needed a nice rest after all the driving its been getting, lol.

Most of this has been covered, many times. You only need one wideband, and you will still need to run your stock sensors.

You'll need to do something with your blow off valve (either change the spring or get a new one.) Even if you put a smaller pulley on....it will still blow off at 15psi (it'll just blow all the time!)

SHOmurph...on a similar note. to reply to your post. I actually built my SC system where the bypass valve purposely vents to atmosphere under normal driving but only under load will it snap shut and feed the charge air through the MAF. I found this was much easier to tune for but my car isn't a SHO or OBD1 for that matter.

I think its mainly two issues: before Josh and Adam tuning was the biggest reason. No one was tuning these things properly.

Second: Tranny and axles breakage.

So a reinforced tranny and stronger axel might be needed, trial and error will tell.

The standard BO/bypass valve has 2 ******* on it. You hook up one that bypasses whenever there is vacuum. The other ****** bypasses when it reaches a certain psi for safety, which is dictated by your spring. Simply don't hook up the second ******, and it will never bypass due to boost.

$7000+ through SHONut, right?

Sounds about right. That's why my boosted SHO will be in a RWD aplication. For $7K I could build the whole car!

Who?

Anyhow, you can go look up on the Mondo valve here if you don't think it's adequate. What you want in a BOV when pushing high boost, is one that can discharge more air flow. And the Mondo BOV is one of the best out there, although you would need to install a new ****** to adapt the BOV on SHOShop piping.

With the SHO Shop setup, the bypass valve does not do everying it should. I have the lightest spring (6 psi) in my valve and it will not open up at 11 PSI. The placement of the valve is not ideal, so using this as a pop off/safety valve is probably not a good idea.
