I tried to follow the instructions on V8SHO.com, and this is the best I could do.

Is this actually hurting my performance, now that it is sucking hot and cold air? It was either that or this.

The problem with this one is it is just as restrictive as the stock setup.

Which setup should I use for the best performance gains?

Oh, and after that stock setup came out, I could actually hear me secondaries! thumb

I had problems porterizing mine too and I just left it sucking in hot air.

You need to get a different rubber coupling, one that is the same diameter the whole length of it. You'll also need to reposition the air box.

Right now what is in there is a 3" coupling that is the same diameter all the way through, connected to a 45* 3" diameter elbow that is somewhat in the fenderwell. That is about the best I could get. The one with the smaller 2" diameter elbow in the picture would be just a restrictive as the stock setup.

If you use just the rubber hose, and toss the other parts, you can go straight from the air box, without repositioninig it, to the cut out in the inner wheel well. This is what I did. You will have to do some fancy angle cutting on the side of the hose that fits over the air box end to get the angle right, and it helps to do a couple of little corner nicks as well, to compensate for the square corners of the air box that impinge on the inlet. But this can all be done with a single chunk of 3 inch rubber rad hose, about 15 inches long, and not having to move the air box at all.

Kirk - Leave it with the stock tube going into the fender, or leave it sucking hot air? I really want to be able to hear my secondaries without having to sacrifice performance. Which intake setup are you running?

Mike - The hosting site is down right now, so none of the pictures I have hosted are showing up right now. That on ramp was fun...until my tires starting screaming for mercy...then it got scary. The SHO was built for taking 25mph on ramps at 60. :D Oh and when the hosting site stops its tantrum, the picture of you in front of my car with that badass shirt is now my sig pic. :D
