Attachment size limits

Why is it that I am only allowed to upload a picture that is 300x300 with a maximum filesize of 35kb, but I'm allowed to attach a PDF with a maximum size of 978mb? Seems kinda weird.

All I'm saying is that the JPG size limit is pretty low... which I can understand, to keep server bandwidth costs down. But then, why allow 1 gig PDFs? And who the **** has 1 gig PDFs anyway? That's all I'm sayin'.

I'm kinda reviving this thread here..... But I have been trying to find info about posting pictures. I am using a SHOspeed account so I'm copying the URL, and im pretty sure I'm copying and pasting it correctly to the URL box in the "manage attachments" window. I click "upload" and is says its an invalid file.
And about the 300x300 limit, I totally understand why it's there, but I always seem to see people posting pictures that seem at least 1000x1000..... Does the 300x300/35kb limit apply to SHOspeed? Could somebody clerify how to post up pictures that are actually big enough to see? I'm sorry if these questions have been answered somewhere else, and for the record I have searched around the forum.

Um, dude... you see the little icon of a mountain with a yellow background on it? Right above the post box? Click that and paste the URL of your picture in that. Works a lot better, and it's called hot-linking.

No , you have to do an image insert , not attachements. Use the INSERT IMAGE icon.
