Can I use a higher amperage alternator like 130 amps in a Gen1 SHO (stock is 90 amps) without running into problems?

You can as the voltage reg will just adjust it. Keep in mind if you are try to use a 95 one they are different. They mount on differently and wire differently. So you would need all the brackets and what not plus the plugs.
