ASFB Noises

I installed ALSBs on my 95 ATX about a month ago and I do notice a big improvement in handling but I've been getting a creaking sound coming from the rear bushings right at my feet. Is this normal for the ALSBs? If it is, is it possible to keep the ALSBs in the front and use rubber ones in the rear? I don't care about a little rougher ride but I hate that noise.

you sure its not something in the dash? Did you SHO get the recall done? and did you double check your torque specs?

FWIW I made some thin plastic washers out of polypropylene to separate/insulate the aluminum bushings from the steel on the top where they meet the body and on the bottom where the bushing touches the subframe. Results in a couple of years.

I also made washers to isolate the al from the fe - I used .030 paper gasket material.

When I hear the creaking noise, that means my rear subframe bolts have come loose. I'm still working on how to keep them tight....

The creaking is because they're loose. Pull one bolt out at a time, gob some blue loctite on there, and retighten.

Torque them down to spec again. It is normal to have to torque them once they've been on there for like a weeks or so right after installation.

I did notice notice that they have come lose at times but I never torqued them to factory specs since the're not a factory part. I used a breaker bar and tightened as much as I could. I might try loctite and retighten them to factory specs. And yes the recall has been done. I appreciate everone's input.

Well I used the blue loctite today and tightened all four bolts to spec and I still have the creaking sound coming from the rear bushings, mainly on my side. Will it be a problem if I use Gen 3 rear bushings and keep the aluminum in the front? My car is daily driver, mostly 100 - 200 miles daily and the noise is driving me crazy.

So what is the torque spec for aluminum bushings anyway????????

Good question lol. I torqued them to 90 lb-ft. Ford says 65-87 lb-ft. Either way the noise is still there and I'm going to go back to the rubber bushings in the rear and see what happens.

Then grab your torque wrench and torque the bolt to 75-100ft/lbs.
