As I thought the Front wheel bearing was Toast on my 1995 SHO.

I realy don't think this is what it should look like, but I have been wrong in the past.
I will install the new bearing in the morning.
Timken Bearing and hub set showed up this after noon.

you are right, the little balls are supposed to be inside the bearing, not out on your driveway...

make sure you press on the right places when you assemble the new one, or you will get to do it again soon.

the bearings and races are press-fit in the hub and on the spindle. when you press the race into the hub, you need to press on the race, not on the center part of the bearing, because if you press on the center part, all that load goes through the balls/rollers, and that puts flat spots on the balls or rollers, which causes the new bearing to fail in a very short time.
when you press the spindle into the bearing, you must press on the center part of the bearing, not the hub or outer part of the bearing, because of the same reason.

Good point!
I used the old bearing off a 89 Sho( same bearing Hmmm, Maybe a build in the future) and ground it down a little on my wife's 200o Mystique ( Man that Car was abused but that is another story.) works well. and a Piece of pipe for the center when pressing the hub in. Now if I can just find that old Bearing?

I stated earlier That I used an older bearing to get out the bearing on my wife Mystique and this is true. but in this case. the outer portion of the knuckle is different on my 95 SHO then my wife's Mystique. Same bearing, but the knuckle is set up differently.

I ended up Using a Chisel on the raised area of the outer bearing area and going in a Circular patten knocked the outer race out of the Knuckle.

after I got it out I found What maybe the cause of this bearing to go bad it looks to me like some one may have torched out the original bearing a scored up the Knuckle some.
SAM 1229

I used my Die-grinder and a flat stone to relive the burrs slightly. just to be sure there were no areas to catch the bearing on the way back in.

SAM 1232

I Ground a little off the old Race and used it to press the bearing into the knuckle.

and then pressed the hub into the bearing.
Rides Smooth now.
next The ABS sensor
Tires Discount tire online will be getting a call soon.
