Well day went into the toilet . come home from Rome NY, something was acting up. Steppen on the gas on the on ramp and car seemed to miss a gear. it finally caught and seemed fine, went into Ontario service center to grab a bite and fuel. Went to get on the ramp to get onto I-90 Westbound, It would not get into gear even when in the Sport mode tried that to see it made a difference. finally made it home after a few toll booths and a few shudders going through them as I got back to speed,.

Got home and hooked the SCT X4 to pull a code and got the dreaded

Sorry, I'm new to the P0756. Is it just a shift solenoid that craps out? Or is it an indication of something more severe?

Transmission issues on multiple 2016 vehicles on both Ford and GM vehicles (shared design). We're starting to see a lot of these. Direct clutch hub breaks at snap ring.

SSM 45713 - 2015-2016 Vehicles Equipped With 6F50/6F55 Transmission - No Reverse/3rd/5th Gear - Various DTCs - Built On 11/02/2015 And Through 02/01/2016
Some 2015-2016 vehicles equipped With 6F50/6F55 transmission and built between 11/02/2015 and 02/01/2016 may exhibit no reverse, 3rd and 5th gear along with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) P0715, P0717, P0756 and P2701. This condition may be caused by incorrect machining of the direct clutch cylinder/tone wheel (7F283)resulting in the snap ring out of position. If the direct clutch hub (7G384) isfound to be damaged, also replace the following: direct clutch return spring 7F235, direct clutch cylinder/tone ring 7F283, direct clutch snap ring 7C122, TSS sensor 7M101 and seal kit 7153 and filter in the kit. Completely disassemble andclean the transmission to remove metal particles including the main control follow Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01. Claim applicable labor operations in section 7 of Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) manual

does not look like a good thing

Try the KAM reset procedure. If the code is in the PCM, clear it also and try driving again.

check your build date by VIN on
https://www.etis.ford.com

Build Date: 18.11.2015
Vehicle Line: Taurus
Body Style: 4 Door Saloon HAHAH makes me want to have a Drink
Version: SHO
Engine: 3.5L DOHC V6 Petrol T/C
Transmission: 6 Speed Auto Transmission 6F55
Drive: LHD 4WD (FTD)
Axle Ratio: 3.16
Emission: With California/Green State Req
Air Conditioning: Dual Zone Auto Temp Control A/C
Territory: (+)"USA"
Paint: Magnetic

So it falls into that bulletin .
I reset the KAM with the SCT, Code is gone but still no reverse, pushed it out of driveway.
Rolls easy for such a heavy car.

Got to get it 63 road miles (1 hour)to dealer, if i make it 30 miles, Ford will come get me, 35 mile tow option on policy

Yup to the above. If it's the issue in the TSB, if you can, get them to replace the transaxle. The direct clutch cylinder/tone wheel is a large aluminum pan shaped part and the area where the snap ring resides looks to have been machined way to thin. Part of me says drive it to the point of destruction so they have to replace it, the other side would be concerned that if they don't replace it and you drive it excessively that it puts a shit load of metal fragments (mostly aluminum) through the transaxle and coolers. Even with the proper flushing equipment it's a fairytale to think you're getting everything out and we've seen repeat failures in some cases. The dealer is going to run a series of pinpoint tests to determine the failure and repair it, it's quite possible that the issue in the TSB has nothing to do with what's happening with your car. At some point I'll probably tune my 13, but I have to say if I had a 15/16my that was tuned, in the back of my mind I'd have concerns about it being a ticking time bomb. If you had the failure, Fords going to try to make it out to be the tune that caused it and the Tuner is going to point to the TSB on a known issue, meanwhile you're stuck in the middle. CYA and make any sign of tuning go away before bringing it to the dealer. Good luck and best wishes.

Most likely not says Built On 11/02/2015 And Through 02/01/2016.
Will differ to the more knowledgeable ones in here. anything can happen at anytime for any unknown reason

2nd ford since 2008 to have a tranny issue,
1st was company car 2008 Escape, tranny died at a rest stop 125+ miles from home less than 2K on it, ford replaced and added tranny cooler as the recommended fix and never had an issue again till traded at 130,000+

Sholab, I know it looks horrible but it's fairly painless with a lift. The big youngsters that works in the bay next to me is our go to for transmission work and typically has it out on the bench in a bit over 2hrs and he's not a hack. Not nearly as intrusive as it looks.
