All attitude aside, there is nothing to solve. The TwEECer has access to adjust many parameters in the computer's program. The Apexi just fools the computer in order to get the AFR's correct. If you look above, the user of the Apexi ALSO uses a TwEECer as he can't do it all with the Apexi alone. The TwEECer has FAR more control than the Apexi and it always will by design. If you have to use a better product to get the other to work, why not just use the ONE product?

boy it's amazing how fast I lose respect for some people.......idk why you can't just say....hey paul and ashley if it worked for your setup then great, but I prefer the tweecer and that is my opinion.....instead you have to slam on them for using what you consider a "band-aid"...hahaha well I have wasted enough time on this post! good luck to all and Merry Christmas!

Not that im complaining, but please make a seperate thread if you want to discuss catted vs catless y-pipes and tweecer vs other. I know I asked a question about chips and y-pipes, but I didnt expect it to go that far! But thank you to everyone that helped :sun:

Just about anything you want... If you're not going to mess with timing, you're really missing out. The stock timing curve is horrible.

Yes it probally is, but when it comes to cars, im more mechanical type of person, I know why every other mod gives it power, but when it comes to stuff like timing and computer controlled things, im ********, and wont be able to do a thing myself.

If you are happy with the SHO as is (power wise), leave it as is. You can easily spend more on mods than it will cost to get another complete SHO. Having owned around 9-11 SHO's, from stock to 500hp turbo beasts, I can without a doubt say that I would concentrate on brake/suspension mods before I would touch anything power wise. You will enjoy good suspension and brakes immensely more than what that same money will buy you in HP. If you do decide that you need more HP, a good y-pipe, the BBB's and ported runners and UDP's are not a bad way to go. Not enough changes that you absolutely need a new tune, but enough to notice a difference in power output. That said, NONE of those items are needed for FI. In fact, the y-pipe will need to be ditched, assuming you go the turbo route (and why would you do anything else!). You would not want to waste your money on those mentioned items, as what you will really need is the following: Tweecer, injectors, fuel pump, FPR. With those items (and of course the turbo system), you can easily make 350chp all day every day.

But back to the beginning of this post, f you are happy with the SHO as is (power wise), leave it as is.

Thank you for your input, I already have new struts and a FSTB, mabye RSTB soon. Im not big on doing fast turns, so if the car can safley turn without flipping and have a nice ride im happy.

Brake wise, again, as long as the breaks work and such, I dont plan on doing 100 mph to full stops, just enough that when I hit the brakes, I know its braking nicely.

Looks like the Y-Pipe is the biggest thing to do, so ill get that out of the way asap.

The ported intake runners, besides giving performance, look sexy when you get them back all painted, and im a terrible self-painter so id rather have someone else do it! (ShoSource) and as long as the runners are out, might as well do the BBB's.

The UDP is pretty simple to do, so im def going to do that when I get the money.

to get back on topic....

no mod is FINANCIALLY worth it.

if you want to do it, go for it, its already been explained that everything'll swap over to a 3.2 if you do go that route later.

Haha thanks, yea the more I think about it the more I realize that.

The talk about the TwEECer vs Apexi started well before this thread.

I don't consider it a band-aid. It IS a band-aid. It's main goal is to 'fool' the computer, not

Its just a car :nut:my life dosent depend on the debate like mister so and so. I love SHOs they pay my mortgage:). The tweecer was first but the runabilty wasent ther for city driving. The tunning shops around Virgina Beach laughed at us so out dated need to be a computer geek to use it which im not,and spent hours and hours on a dyno tunning to get right so we got the WOT set and had the safc on a shelf put it on and the city driving was good set the safc WOT to zero so it wouldnt afect the tweecer BFD

I can help you with the TwEECer if you want it to run correctly. When you start adding larger injectors, just adjusting the injector slope alone won't take care of the problem. Once you learn the TwEECer, you would probably find yourself removing the Apexi as it's purpose would no longer be needed.

WOT tuning is almost a byproduct of a good tune. Since you can data log, tune it for varied loads and RPM and your WOT when fall right into place. The trick is getting the computer to have the computer hit each and every commanded AFR as varied loads and RPM.

I don't know where you're getting on the train of thought of my life depending on the debate... If SHO's are paying your bills, it might be more lucrative to learn the TwEECer and learn it well.

is there anyway to tell if I already have a PP intake already? I just looked at the engine after a month or two of it sitting in the garage and it looks like this

1211081518

one of the paint schemes SS offers. The owner I got it from doesn't know if it is or not, or just painted.

Also how can I tell if I have a UDP? I was looking at the pullys and it looks like some of them are bright alum/chrome colored. Will try to get a pic later.

-edit

if it helps at all, the owner before Firespirit was Shokevin1983 on this board, but I asked Ashley to ask him if he knew what was done to it, so ill find out later.

Well I asked the people that owned the car before me and they said the Intake is just painted, and the pullys look shiny because the waterpump, AC, and alternator are almost brand new. So I doubt one is a UDP. But I can snap a pic anyway to be sure, mabye the owner BEFORE them did it? (just hope, haha)
