are the people on v8sho.com rude or is it just me?

I've had people with really lousy attitudes on the v8sho.com email forum. Is it me or is it everywhere? I havnt been to many forums so I am not sure how they work.

hello. I know what you mean. Unfortunately, it is everywhere... thankfully, there are a FEW good people who make it worth the while.
What part of Tennessee are you located?
Welcome to the shoforum!

No Jeffrey, they are for the most part some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, who go out of their way regularly to make people feel welcome, to answer any questions they might have about their cars, and to give them the best advice for maintenance, repairs, and modifications.

Unfortunately, you came to the list with a chip on your shoulder, then proceeded to flood the list with email, after email, after email, after email -- most of them off-topic, and those that were on-topic had quite an air of "know-it-all-ism" when it was clear that you didn't.

Instead of taking the time to read and learn, you just kept typing away, and filling our email boxes with rubbish. Most of your posts were just replies to other threads for the sake of replying, with no contributory value whatsoever. As time went by, more and more members became -- understandably -- quite frustrated; myself included.

When you needed to replace your radiator, no matter how hard people tried to be helpful, you figuratively spit in everyone's faces and told us how you knew exactly what you were doing, and we were all idiots and couldn't tell the difference between the A/C condenser and the radiator. Meanwhile, you continued to struggle with the A/C condenser instead of the radiator. This is but one small example.

As time wore on, you just continued to be more and more combative, and clearly had no interest in contributing to the list in a positive manner. You began escalating the hostility, attacking and threatening other members of the list, IMPERSONATING other members of the list, and going out of your way to be a nuisance. You wore out your welcome, and then some.

Now, SHOForum is not the V8SHO.com email list, and is not affiliated in any way. HOWEVER, many list members are also forum members, including myself. As a SHOForum moderator, I am going to take the unusual step of making some salient points right up front:

- YOU ARE COMPLETELY WELCOME HERE, as long as you participate in a thoughtful and positive manner.

- Attacking, threatening or harassing forum members simply will not be tolerated. Show respect for others, and you will be shown the same respect.

- Posts which, in the completely subjective opinion of any forum moderator or administrator, do not comply with the above will be summarily deleted without warning. This includes excessive posts, or posts that are off-topic or controversial. This is a privately-owned forum, and thus the content and membership are completely controlled by the owner.

If you feel you can agree to those points (as well as the forum Terms of Service and Guidelines linked in my signature), then allow me to be the first to officially welcome you to SHOForum.com! :D If not, then thank you for visiting, and please move along peacefully.

You earned the treatment you got.

Now before you make the same mistake here, try reading the V8SHO website in it's entirety. There's a lot of useful info on it. I've read it multiple times. You might also want to search e-bay for service manuals. I've got a CD-ROM copy and the huge hardcopy and they both come in handy.

Honestly, between the shoforum and v8sho.com... nothing is impossible when it comes to DIY repairs, etc... who needs a mechanic :)

I don't know what happened over there, I'm not on that list. I do expect people here to show respect for each other and that goes for old members as well as new. Keep it real and all will be well.

Depends on the day :bonk: If I had the room, I would have LOTS more, but I don't

I missed all this also because I got off the v8sho list because my email box was packed ALWAYS! I need to sign back up on a dedicated email account! :thumb:

I wouldnt win. To break it down, I technically only own three of the SHOs listed below. That would leave my brother with the 209K black/black 89 (its half mine, but its his car), and my dad with the 131K black/grey 89, which is the original SHO that started it all. The green 94 is my daily driver and its automatic shifting is slowly choking the life out of me. The titanium may or may not be the winter beater, depending on whether or not I sell it, and last but not least the red 94 is a complete running-driving parts car that will serve has either: A) A donor car for my green 94 (ATX-MTX swap); or B) A donor 3.0L engine for my 3.2L MTX buildup motor.

Now, if you want to factor in all the parts cars Ive had along the way, my old white one, and all the SHOs I've picked up with my friend down the street (I converted him the the SHO  ), it would most certainly be a lot closer! :D
