Which way should the spring thing go on the front brakes? Also I had to grind down the little tab in the metal bracket on the front lines, I hope that is normal.

Anyone?

The spring goes towards the back of the car. It's a strain relief. When the line gets tugged the spring expands, yet provides resistence.

Thats what I thought. Thats how I put it on there but I wanted to make sure.

Got another question if you're up for it since you seem to know about these lines. When the front is all attached, should the line be able to swivel or should it remain fixed? I am thinkign that it should be fixed, otherwise it would leak, but the same time the ability to swivel would help lessen stresses on the lines.

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of an install if you have them on you car?

The line should not swivel when it's attached to the caliper. It needs to be torqued down tight enough to compress the crush washers.

I don't have any pictures of the install, sorry.

The line should not swivel. You insert the spring end into the bracket(on the car) and attach the nut and snug it down. Then put the brake line into the end of the of the earls line and slide the compression thing up and screw it into the end of the earls line and tighten that down. That's it. You know there are two crush washers where the line attatches to the caliper, right? One goes on bolt first then the line then another one and that all gets screwed into the caliper.

This first pic is the drivers side front and the second is one of the rears.

well throw a bunch of dirt, sand, and road muck from the recent ice/snow storms here and thats what mine look like. Thanks for the info and pics

I was supposed to use washers on both sides? Oh shit.....j/k I just wanted to make sure I had everything right. I was a little unsure of all that I did the past few days, I'm amazed I got everything (front 60k and a bunch of other stuff) all back together witout any leftover parts. :)

BTW the brake feel with the SS lines is incredible. 1/3rd the way down the pedal and it feels like my foot is getting direct feedback from the braking system. And I sooooooo love the ABS feel now, no more hard thumping, more of a precise vibration. Best $60 for these lines I could have spent.
