Yes, I'm sure with bad subframe bushings and bad motor mounts this would occur.

Why waste money on gimmicky shit like that? Just get a bunch of DOM tubing and a welder and go *********. You could basically prevent the motor from ever moving.

Solid engine torque dampers can be dangerous too so be careful. Solid or reinforced engine mounts are a better way to go. If your engine mounts fail, that puts all the strain on the dampers, and I have seen cars in which this happened and it crushed the shock towers in, so just a little heads up

After 100K the stock dampeners are worthless! I never pulled a good set off a car. Remove them & all the brkts & save some weight! They are band aids for weak mtr mtg!
-& I've seen solid dampeners break the brkts- but no way can they crush strut towers. Even good solid hits to total the car & strut towers are fine!

liquid filling is for vibration more then it is for movement

while solid mounts / reinforced mounts are great, they arent the answer to everything. the engine has the leverage advantage on the stock mounts because they are rather close to the rotation center line.

having an engine dampener like this allows you to place the dampener in a location that gives the DAMPENER the leverage advantage, hence why dampeners are always mounted high on the engine

the sho however would present a mounting problem due to the transverse layout. i suppose that a bracket on the accessory end of the engine would work, maybe make a 3 tube mount that ties into the frame at 2 points and also extends to the strut tower, and have the dampener occupy the space where you would mount a centrif. supercharger

but the question is, how much good would it do on a car that already has upgraded engine mounts ? and who wants to spend the $ to find out ?

I was simply voicing my opinion to brign up a possible problem, maybe the car it happened on was weakened by rust or a previous accident, but that being said I run solid dampers on my car, but I also have reinforced mounts.

SHOShop used to make the factory dampers solid. I rode in a car that had them. Worst riding SHO ever!
