Any special tool to clean spark plug tubes?

Is there a special tool to use to clean out oil in spark plug tubes? I put new grommets,or plug tube seals from felpro.but b4 I replace I need to clean em out? How about spraying carb cleaner since it evaporated so fast? Thanks, Sam

You talking about before you take the valve covers off or did you already remove them? I just use a paper towel and some cleaner. You can spray whatever type cleaner in there, just get most of it out before you remove the sparkplugs and have stuff run inside the engine.

yes, a paper towel and a screwdriver to push it way down in the tube, around the plug. you will want to steal a whole roll from the wife, as it will take a bunch of paper towels...

From the plug change procedure thread:

Protip: before removing plugs, use a funnel to pour a bit of gasoline or diesel in the plug wells first, and use a vacuum pump with really small straw on the end of the hose (like from a wd-40 spray can or the straw inside a windex bottle). Stick the hose down to the bottom of the well past the plug, and suck all the crud out. Put an air compressor nozzle down in the well, cover the hole with an old towel, and blast the last of the grit out.

Torque plugs to a mere 10 ft/lbs.

Don't wash anything into the open cylinders with the plugs removed. Grit gets down there big enough to plug up the windex bottle straw.
