Any interest in brake cooling ducts?

Just wondering if there would be any interest in a pair of plastic brake cooling ducts. They would fasten to the the lip of the fog light hole and direct air to the caliper. They won't interfere with the tire turning in while in compression or rebound and would be smooth in texture. My guess the price would be around 60.00. Any interest?

Ill take a set after i see some pictures (they would have to work on gen 1 and gen 2 cars.) The fog light openings are slightly different. I made my own ducts that routed directly to the center of the rotor and it was hard to avoid the wheel. Im guessing it would be like an air deflector after the fog light opening as opposed to a pipe that ran all the way to the caliper.

Tom, are you thinking of having something made? The ones that are on the Pumpkin cost about that (actually less) from off-the-shelf parts. I have the templates to cut the stock ducts to go on the fog lights (well, for a Gen II, if we can get a Gen I bumper cover can do that as well).

Jason Z. found a cheaper source than I was using for the front pieces, and I thought they were nicer parts, too.

These would be jig formed fiberglass and or carbon fiber. We'd have to build flex into them to be able to handle the bumper cover deflection upon hitting something. Using the fog light is not set in stone either.

Just getting some ideas for my Son-in-Law that works with that stuff.

Yes for a GEN1. I already have removed my foglights using the plywood at 140mph method.

Tom, are they just looking for an interesting project? There are some other things that are a little harder to come by, like a decent front splitter or a radiator shroud.

Huh? The credibility of your post not being able to distinguish what you didn't like in the thread sucks...

No need to lock it on my account, i'm never offended by noobies or people that I don't know or respect in the first place.

What I am trying to do is prepare for a future event that may or may not happen. That event is the purchase of a gantry CNC machine by my daughter and son-in-law. If they do get it, they're going to need large objects to cut molds for.

Out in front!
I've kinda been working on some front spliters and a few other pieces for aero purpose, if I ever get done I'll e-mail the pics. I'm a sheet metal worker by trade so mine will most likely be aluminun. And simple, because I'm a simple kinda man!:thumb:

a splitter I may be interested in....maybe some canards, too....

Any thoughts on an underbody tray back near the spare tire well to cover up that really big area in front of the rear bumper that looks like a good place for high speed air to hold the car back?

hmm damn this has me thinking.....

see the problem is, carbon fiber is in an extreme demand outweighing supply situation right now........ so if you can get quality stuff its expensive as ****!

that being said a rear splitter would be hard, as exhaust pipes, mufflers, and tail pipes come out below the bumper.......

I might be able to fab up some sort of front spliiter for a Gen2..... if anyone can give me some technical ideas on this that woud be great... would you just want a flat piece that covers inside the bumpers lip and goes back to the subframe? I could make that relatively easy.........

carbon fiber is expensive though.... I wouldn't have any means to actually test it and see if the part does in fact make a difference.... I think it would be hard to sell a part like that at a few hundred bucks that might just be a ricer mod.........

plus the majority of people's SHO bumpers probably sit differently... they aren't all going to be the same..... If I made a piece that bolts to mine, it might not bolt right up to your car.......

give me some ideas of stuff you'd like to see in carbon fiber for a SHO.......

I'd love a splitter (tasteful) and something under the front of the car (and possibly the rear), that would not waste air around all the parts that need cooled.

The one I'm thinking of [front] is going to be fully adjustable. Mine's a gen 1 but my buddy has a couple gen 2's if I ever finish moving I'll get back to work on the car stuff. I did move my tools today , baby steps!
