I love the look of larger tires in the rear and slightly smaller up front, is there any known performance effects after doing this? What is the ideal wheel size for a tighter fitment? Has anyone tried using wheel spacers to get a wider profile to get flush to fenders? Thanks

2018 sitting on megan racing coilovers, (Ik my rear and fronts have completely different tires rn I have to change them.)

9.5 front, 10.5 rear. @Nova had his 10.5 rears rubbing with h&r lowering springs. Just need to roll the rear fenders a bit if they rub. Or just get 10” rears.
I also have 1 inch hub adapters on for stock flowers to sit flush. Ill take pics of how it is now.

Larger rear and smaller front diameter tires are a no-no on all wheel drive vehicles, unless they come that way from the factory. I don't know of any like that.

Trying to put wider wheels in the rear with corresponding wider tires, the same diameter as the front, will be challenging.

Lots of members have a staggered setup without issues. Our awd can handle it. Its not an older fulltime awd mechanical setup. Then its a no no.
Diameter yes issues, width no issues

Interesting, your fitment looks great thats like exactly what im going for. I will look into 1" hub adapters. Could you possibly link your tires or hub adapters if you get a chance. Thanks

Mine were custom made at the time to the hub diameter. Ill look around to see if there are any available for our funky hub size on factory rims

If you find a set with 63.4mm bore diameter and 5x4.5, you need to cut the existing wheel studs down with a grinder

114.3mm and 4.5” is the same.
Lesson of the day.
Dont let the metric system bully you.

Like @yaycandy said, I had a little bit of rubbing issues on my rear tires due to my square setup on my car. After getting an alignment and having my rear fenders rolled, I haven't rubbed at all since. Here's a couple pics of my tires and fenders. My wheels are 20 x 10.589d585767684f04418f6c908612d56b1C0f87ed18d051e472ebbfe0e3e0637199528fe6252773957887015b891a6399d

My initial thoughts doing it years ago was, ill get chips up the sides from the treads being out farther but over 3 years and no issues at all. Most roads around me are stone also.

Actually working on the rears now as i have the pads rubbing. Probably because i didnt grease the slide pins. Idiot. But you can see the factory studs cut down a but so they dont touch the rim when installed.

Thanks for the reply, are you running the same 1" spacers
No, I don't have spacers of any kind because my wheels are already 10.5" wide. I'm not running factory wheels.

I have been running a staggered set up for years on my SHO....

Which saw DD duties, as well several track runs (both 1/4 strip, and road coarse) and have had ZERO issues.

I learned that as long as the variance is less than 3% between the front and rear, then the system/electronics won't sense an issue, or go haywire.

As such, I run the following:

20x8.5's up front, wrapped in 255 45ZR 20's

20x10's in rear, wrapped in 275 40ZR 20's

Nitto 555R's.

Thanks for the info tried to look on your profile for a pic but couldn’t find one, would you mind linking a pic so I can see what this fitment looks like?

There some pics in this thread here.....

Found some pics in my PB album(s). Although dated as I now have the Wilwood Big Brake Kit and am also running the Nitto NT555R's.

But same size shoes as mentioned above.

Hope they're of some help.

I don’t run staggered anymore but used to for about a year or so. Didn’t think it was really necessary so when I bought new wheels/tires I stopped doing it, never had any issue from it. Our cars aren’t AWD 100% of the time like Audi and Subaru. Used to be 20x9 all the way around 245/40/20 front and 275/35/20 rear with 1” spacers all around IMG 20200216 085244 052

Superspeed RF05RR. It's a Canadian wheel company.
I really like those - I have had some personal financial set backs that have slowed down my pace of doing upgrades to mine.

I am a Costco member - so the Michelin SS 4 tires are always fairly priced and cant beat the nitrogen fill and many other perks.

That said my tires are bald - have a great alignment and rotated even more than manuf recommended - so they are perfectly bald all around.

I digress - so months back when I was looking to replace the tires - but had to replace the transmission in my daily driver $4500 later - I am coming back now to price them out. Costco introduced a custom rim company to their offerings I beleive a couple years back. A few months back when looking to replace - I looked over their rim offerings, wasnt all that impressed and started looking seriously at Niche wheels.

Well the difference several months make, I am waiting for this paycheck to buy rims and tires, going back and forth between TireRack and Costco - I am going with Costco. The company Velox Wheels changed up their lineup - I am greatful I even went back - thinking it was the same $hit from a few months back.

These will be my next buy shortly, yours kinda looked similar that was why I asked:

Thanks, took me a while to pick out what wheels I wanted. I didn't have many options for a 9.5" wide wheel. I bought my wheels and tires from WheelWiz, being in Canada. Cost me $4200 for this setup.

I would seriously consider the Firestone Indy 500's, they are a great tire, and much more affordable than a lot of other comparable options.

I wanted the lightest wheel possible in a 9.5, so conveniently these wheels checked all the boxes for me. Correct size, lightweight, bronze, and have a load rating high enough for these boats.

That would be the only thing I would double check with the wheels you're looking at, make sure they are load rated heavy enough for these cars
