Hello,

I have a 1998 SHO. During hurricane Sandy me and my family lost power. I filled up my car so when my gas cans run out I can siphen from the car for my generator. But when I went to go siphen I realized I couldnt and forgot there was an anti-siphen. I was able to get through to my 92 SHOs tank, but not my 98 or 89, so I assume the 92's is broken, about 20 minutes later the power came back on, but I want to be better prepared, fortunatly the power was only off for 25-26 hours and I had enough gas from the 2 cans and my 92. So my question is, Can I, or have the anti-siphen removed on a 98 SHO. Also I have a 98 E-250, does any one know if I can remove the anti siphen from that too.

Thanks
-Joe

I'm not positive about the 3rd gen, but the 2nd gen's anti-siphon mechanicsm is simply a very small gap between the end of the filler tube and the wall of the gas tank.

A much easier method is to disconnect the line at the fuel filter and power the pump. Rig up a hose that doesn't leak and it should work.

I can'T speak for the Gen 3, but I disconnected the line at the fuel rail on my 94 and jumped the fuel pump test pin to pump gas from my tank into a jerry can for friend who got stuck.
