Like Mike said first check all the connections. I had the same problem but my ABS sensor was actually bad. I got mine from SHONUT.

I got a cheap code reader at Wall-Mart here in Canada its for the ECC and ABS well the only reason I bought it was to get the ABS codes. Anyway it comes with a manual and all. Once you got the codes you can go from there. Btw always fix the problems in order the codes are given.

if the ANTI-LOCK light on the dash is illuminated, your ABS is not functioning. you are in standard braking protocol, just like cars had before ABS.

case in point: i switched to a NON-ABS knuckle on the front. sensor lead was zip-tied to the LCA and ANTI-LOCK light stayed on. with proportioning valve bypassed, under hard braking, i locked up the rear brakes and the car became tail happy. if i had the ABS lead attached to the knuckle and performed the same braking, ABS would engage before tire lockup could occur.

I scannedmy car with a snapon diagnosis scanner. i got codes, 111- 511- 539.
511 isnt bad. i dont know what 111 is... and 539 has something to do with airconditioner.

You scaned the wrong plug if you got them code. You have to scan the ABS plug for ABS codes. Not the ECC plug.

Im not sure if your asking for what im thinking of but if you look right behind the drivers side headlight between it and the air box there is a black box mounted to the metal frame of the car there. It has a plug that plugs into the bottom of it. If you unplug that it will turn the light off........ but also you will no longer have abs. If you dont care if youve got abs then just un plug it.... Or do it to at least turn that light off until you get around to figuring out what it is. Hope that answered your question

On my car the ECC test and ABS test are inches apart, the ABS is about 1 inch to the drivers side of the ECC one.

If youve got a basic set of pads(basic meaning stock or cheaper) then it will be very difficult to lock it up as a test because the fade tends to pick up as soon as heavy application occurs. Mines disconnected and ive never locked them up, but then again im in texas where theres hardly any threat of snow or ice down here. Also ive owned mine for about 3 months now so its been hot the whole time so i cant really vouch for it. But i will say that ive never locked them up under dry conditions. I dont plan to go to the 96 upgrade just because of the knuckle issue on the 93s. I think ill just get some drilled rotors and a nice set of high performance pads and then i should be able to lock them up, or at least have decent brakes. I forgot to check where your from but if your up north than for the time being id unhook it and try to figure out whats causing it.... ur gonna need it this winter if your up north. Good luck :thumb:

Hey there, if you dont care about about slight dishonesty then just unplug the box behind the light to sell it and the light will be off. But you will have no abs and its not very honest.

My gunmetal rims i did myself. If you go to your local parts store(for me autozone) and go to the paint section duplicolor makes wheel paint. I got 2 cans of color and one can of clear wheel paint by duplicolor and sanded them with ultra fine grit just to give them some slight texture and then cleaned them with 409 and taped the tire off and painted them on the floor of my garage( make sure you take them off the car, the overspray with this paint travels!) I used 4 coats spraying from 12 oclock, then 3 oclock, 6 and 9.... I repeated this process with 2 coats of the clear and it came out great. The only downside is it takes about 5 days for the stuff to cure but they are able to be driven on the next day provided you dont drive on rocky pavement or something that can hit them. Total cost was about 15 bucks and the paint has a special formula just for wheels and really applys well. No worries about missing a nook or cranny. Make sure you mark on the tire where the wheel weight is and remove it before you paint it. Mine have about 3000 miles on them since i painted them and havent gotten nicked up once. I take precaution when i get them rebalanced though by removing the caps with a screw driver and a rag over it since the tire places just jab metal in but its really durable and cheap and it looks alot better. Alot of guys will say get them powdercoated which i wont knock down but you have to put up with no wheels until they get done... and then you have to have tires taken off and put back on...... its a big hassle and the end result is almost identical. This paint is extremely durable so id just do this. Id say the best thing is you will no longer see brake dust and the wheels look clean all the time! Plus it gives the car a unmistakable look. If you have any more questions about it or would like to see a pic of one of my rims up close email me at [email protected] and ill be glad to give ya any advice to it. Good luck :thumb:
