This is strange, when I start the car up, the anti brake light is on for a second, then I put the car into reverse, or drive, and it shuts off, so I drive a little ways, with it still off, and The anti-lock brakes aork fine, until I hit about 17MPH, then the light comes back on, or after I drive for about 15 seconds, and then The anti-lock brakes dont work anymore.. whats with this light???

The ABS system gives codes similar to the EEC. I just haven't had to figure out how to read them. I'll bet a brake shop could help you out.

I know the answer to the second part of your question. At approximately 17-19 mph, the ABS runs a quick (1-2 second) self test. Obviously, there is something wrong. Could be just about anything, from a cracked sensor ring to an electrical problem with the motor/actuator. You can check the sensor rings/sensors very easily, it's just a visual check. I had an abs problem last year....and discovered a half inch wide crack in a front sensor ring. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well where are the rings, so I can check them? I know the grey connector with all the wires beside the airbox has a crack in the cover, but I dont think that it would effect the brake from working would it?

The reader I got reads the ABS codes as well as the EEC-IV codes.

Also, the Helms manual (95, anyway) has a complete diagnostics & pinpoint test section for ABS issues. There's a nice chart inside that shows which test to use if the light is on in any or all of about 6 different conditions (cranking, idling, >X mph, braking, etc.

Good luck bud.

I'm not sure of the average cost of the sensor rings, you'd have to price them on your own. To replace them, you have to remove the half shaft(axle) and have the old one pressed off, and the new one pressed on. When I did mine, I just replaced the entire axle.

I am having the same problem... well sort of. With mine, I have the light come on when I go, and it seems to be ok if I just baby the car. If I take off quickly, then the light comes on and it also sends a surge to my Electronic Climate Control, and turns it off for about a second. Then the climate control resets itself and continues as normal, but the ABS light stays on. It blew the main fuse (the 30amp one) in the big fuse box in the engine compartment. I replaced the fuse and then it just blew again. Could my problem be a bad ground, or something? Where would I check this?

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, that sounds electrical. You'll have to trace it down. Most likely a bare wire grounding out against the frame or other metal part. GOOD LUCK!!!

Ok, this is weird, yesterday I took off my DIS cleaned it all up.. then I put it back on, and the light never came on... I drove for a while, and after a couple trips to different places it came back on.. The grease on the DIS was dry, could this have anything to do with the anti-locks?
