I Purchased the car with no radio. Put my own in and the antenna would not go down, which was ok by me. Went to the car wash Saturday and the kid pushed the antenna down, and now it will not go back up. Any ideas???????

It's more likely that the power antenna wasn't hooked up to whatever head unit you installed.

Just pull it out by hand.

Did 89 SHO's have retractable antennae?
I still have the stock cassette deck.
I was wondering if I had a raising/lowering mechanism and whether it required servicing.

My '89 has a retractable antennae.

The only part that I service is the mast itself. i use a teflon fortified bike chain ****. sray lightly, wipe off. It is alcohol based so it dries without residue, but lubricates thumb

The antennae motor can be accessed by removing the fender liner. Mine is original and still works just fine :D
