another issue with my 95. was hoping for a little more of you guy's diagnostic expertise, i have had issues also with my heat/ac for sometime now. It sounded like a bomb ticking in my dash for the longest time, and was stuck on full blast heat, no matter what button i push. if its really cold out, the ac is stuck on , but when its hot, the heat is stuck, not even vent from outside air...just full blast cookin heat, i can adjust my fan speed still though. i know has to be some kind of flapper in there, but just what? any info appreciated

You have to pull the dash out, or at least most of the way to get the BDA out but this guide should let ya know what your in for, http://www.shophoenixproject.com/heatercore/heatercore.htm its for the heater core but its about the same and I would replace it too while your in there

fantastic! this site is absolutely awesome! thanks so much! I found out in minutes today what killed about 2 hours going to autozone to talk to an idiot who couldn't tell me nothing i didnt already know, wasted time and gas, i sure wish i had found this sooner is all.

so fixing this should also make the digital temp controls work correctly again, they were working fine before this started ticking?

It's a common failure part. Yes. It should work as before...unless the blend door itself needs to be replaced. I would go for the actuator since it's the 90%+ failure part on this system.

When the blend door actuator broke on my old 95 MTX, the part was $30 and then I paid a shop $300 labor for 6 hours of work ($50/hour). Not fun.

no, not this one, i wish! actually, what happened with the bda...i ordered on rock auto and got some mystery piece that i still havent returned, when eric came, he had the internals of a dash, but the bda on the one he had wouldnt work, after tearing out the dash out to try and fix,
so its still windows for me..sweatin it lol

Yea, how many types of BDA's were there? The one in the 93 was not the same one that was in her car, and the thing she got from rock auto, was some mystery peice that had a connector on it like it was wanting to accept a bunch of small vac lines like the backside of the EATC....
