Terri and I were still about 700 miles from home in GA when this happened. I'm getting some Avon Tech M550's from Tirerack as soon as my guy gets back to me. Hopefully by the beginning of next month I'll start to enjoy driving this car...

So what's the consensus on the rear sway bar end links? Do I HAVE to buy them and if I do which ones listed on Rockauto are the best?
Anything else I need to purchase?

No, you don't need to buy them.

It's one of the few items that can be replaced in a few minutes when one of the originals break. I would skip them if you are trying to save money.

To do the job as quickly and cheaply as possible, all you need are your quickstruts.

BTW. If the spot welds on the front strut towers have been cut, mark where the camber plates are sitting so that we can put them back into place in the exact same place. This will save a trip to the alignment shop.

It would also be a help if you could use a can of PB blaster in as many places as you can reach the night before.
All four pinch bolts, outer tie rods, caliper to knuckle bolts, sway bar links, rear control arms. Basically anything that might need to be removed or separated. We should be able to do the job without pulling the front control arms and strut rods.

It would nbe nice if you have a long pry bar for popping the lower ball joint out of the front knuckles. I use a 6' bar inserted over the LCA and below the subframe. A little force is all that is needed to pull them out.

Also need to remember to keep the old struts as housings for Koni inserts. Prepped and painted, you should be able to get a few bucks for them.

Also, a question. Didn't the Gen 1's come with solid rear brake rotors? Mine are vented... It's also got the Gen 2 brake upgrade up front. LOL That was pretty nice to find out!

Well, we managed to get the suspension on the car along with some new tires that I mounted and balanced. Lo and behold one of the wheels is bent so now I need a new wheel. Anyway. The rest of the suspension and brake components looked good but I think I do need new slider pins and boots for the rear calipers and new sway bar end link bushings on the rear. Other than that everything was great and broke apart pretty easily.

I'm sorry I missed everyone - I heard you had fun in the midst of all the projects. I certainly could've changed my O2 sensors in the mix.

Unfortunately I have a 'priority project' this weekend at my house.

Hopefully we can hook up "soon" at Kildare's or something. We should still have decent weather for a while. We can also hope for another 70* January day but let's not wait that long!
