Another headache! please help!

Well, my car now likes to sputter alot when driving normally, and backfire. Huge loss of power at WOT and an intermittent popping noise coming from the exhaust at idle.

Can't be clogged cats, I have no cats. Can't be the MAF, I unplugged it and it's the same deal. Any ideas?

Any service engine soon lights? Possibly oil fowling plugs or wires in the plug wells( mine did it once before i replaced my plug well seals) If youve got a engine light then it could be your tps sensor........ Well let me back up first...... if youve got a engine light then check for codes. Do you have a light?

Are you sure all your wires are intact and connected properly to the coil pack (as in, connected at the proper spots)?
Sounds like it's misfiring.

Yes, the car ran perfectly this morning. When I left school to come home it was acting up.

Make sure all wires/cables were properly reconnected after you did your starter... sounds like you've crossed some wires somewhere. That would cause it to short or heat up.

Run the codes and see what they tell you man, thats the best way to try and find out.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. are the plugs or wires old? One might be fowling out for some reason other than oil.

If its intermittent could it be fuel related? Have u ever changed ur fuel filter?

Well I just changed the fronts. The rears looked ok when I had them out last month. But I didn't change them. The wires look good too.

If the rears have a significant amount of miles on then then id suggest changing them out. Also if your wires are old or even original then id suggest getting some new ones. Old wires can look fine and be the culprit. My buddies has 160k on it with the original wires and this is what it turned out to be...... same exact symptoms too.

Although if its intermittent id be inclined to suggest a new fuel filter if its never been changed, run some potent fuel injector cleaner through it and see what happens. It might be possible that you got a bad tank of gas or junk in your tank.

Fuel filter is new, I only run 93 octane. I'm pretty sure wires/plugs are no more then 2 years old.

Gee....... I give up.......... sounds like youve already covered all the easy stuff. Check your codes and see if that uncovers anything. The only thing i can think of is a dirty injector or something along those lines but if you take care of the car ( which from what it sounds like you do) then i dont really see that as the problem either. Do you run a k&n or an oiled type of air filter? I doubt this would cause intermittent problems but your maf might be dirty. Usually if thats the case though its constant. I give up on throwing ideas out though, youve covered them all already. Run the codes and see what she says

Well, I have a missfire. I'm sure of it. I probably need to replace the plugs/wires. But there's no oil in the wells. Can the wires/plugs still go bad? And how?

Old age. Heat and time still does a number on things like plugs and wires. Backfiring/popping in the intake can almost exclusively be tracked to one of two causes: mis-routed plug wires, or a timing problem.

try the coil pack.... unplug each wire, and see if it runs the same.....
do this one at a time though.....

if its a bad coil pack, then that will tell you....

I would run the codes.... very easy, and a fast way to diagonose (sp?) something.....

Ok so I have the snakes off the car. I am pulling all my plugs. I noticed that the intake manifold is dripping oil, and lots of it into my combustion chambers. All of the plugs are oil soaked. It seems to be coming from a hose connected to the front valve cover going into the throtte body area.

Any ideas???

Intersting... I didn't get the rest of the picture when you had IMed me. Popping generally indicates erratic spark or valve timing. The line you inidicate is supplying the oil is actually the crankcase fresh air supply line so it's most likely sucking the oil in itself. As suggested, check the seperator and it's hose. Interesting problem.

Ok, I changed all the plugs. The car runs better now, but still rough. It doesn't pop/bog out, surge and all that, but definately still runs rough.
