Hey guys,

About 6 months ago I replaced the throttle position sensor, MAF sensor, plug wires, and plugs. I also replaced my crank sproket because I found that my problem the whole time was crank cancer. The car ran awesome for about two months, and then it started missing again. I know I got the timing belt on right, because it ran fine for a while there. I ran codes and got a 111 for KOEO, and a 167 for KOER. I dont think the 167 code has anything to do with the miss. Can anybody give me a guess as to what might be causing this. I think I am going to check the plugs this weekend, and see if any are fouled. Any help is appreciated.

Also, I was wondering if a disconnected, or rotten vaccum line would cause the engine to miss. Would a bad fuel pump cause this? I am trying to get any answers.

An engine misfire without an indicative error code points to the plugs or wires. I must ask, which plugs and wires did you install six months ago?

I installed the motorcraft wires, but not the motorcraft plugs. I thought that the plugs might be the problem. I am going to check the plugs this weekend. What should I look for that would tell me that the plugs were the problem. The only thing that bothers me is, the plugs are only 6 months old. Would they have pussed out so soon, or do you think there might be something that made them fail.

Thanks

It depends, I have a motor with a hole in the piston that was running plain autolites. I think they were for the 3.8 engine but I'm not sure. You want to use double platinum plugs no matter what and preferably motorcraft. I have used splitfires without any issues, but I buy the motorcraft at fpn now because they are cheaper. You might have a fitment problem with another type of plug.

Try the Motrocraft AGSP32PP plugs and find out. You should not have to pay more than $4 each for the Motrocraft AGSP32PP plugs. Non or single platinum plugs will not usually last more than about 15,000 miles in the SHO engine. Read this as to why.
