I want to add an aftermarket amp and sub to my existing premium audio system.
It's not a huge one, only 175 watts or so, and I am wondering if there is an existing power source and remote turn on attached to the premium amp in the trunk that I can tap into.
This will save me the trouble to running new wires through the car.
I am going to just tap into the rear speaker wires with a line out converter to get the signal, since I am keeping the factory radio for now.

Anyone have a wiring diagram of the premium amp connections that they can reference and let me know?

Thanks

If you give me a second, I'll go look. I have my remote wired up like that. As far as the supply power for the amp, I would suggest running a proper gauge wire from the battery.

EDIT: it's the solid blue wire... almost light blue.

Run your own power cable like SASHO said. I tried to cut a few corners and when i found the power source, the wire wasn't big enough to provide the power needed to run my amp consistantly. Anything over 1/4 volume it would cut in and out. My amp is not big either little 350 watt kenwood, save the hassle and run your own so you dont overload any wires.

As for the sound, I took the wires coming from the speaker amp to the sub OEM amp.
It's the "sub out" wires. Only filtered bass. I think it's better than a line in converter. It's already an RCA input so I just spliced in a RCA connecter and plugged in into my amp.

Do these still exist in the premium sound package? Remember I only have the one amp.

Thanks the the ID on the remote wire to everyone, I guess I'll just suck it up and run a new power wire, I was hoping Ford would have put something substantial in since on most of the SHOs it was powering two amps.

The premium amp is different,it has no out coming wires from it,for the sub amp. There might be the extra wiring for the power/ground to the sub amp, a yellow and red wire that goes into a connector. It would be on the passenger side in the trunk if there.

See this is the JBL amp with sub amp you can see how the sub amp hooks up,and a diagram also.
