Where do you guys mount your aftermarket amps?

The amp install on my car is really getting to bother me, aesthetically. I don't like the amp being bolted onto the sub box.

I'd like to mount them behind the seat, as is "standard", but other than the tiny metal frame that the old amps used, there's nowhere to do it.

I was considering mounting a piece of MDF board or someting to the seatback area, and mounting the amp there.

What's the consensus?

I had the same problem, but I did what you are thinking about. Actually I went 1 step further and made it like a door.

There are amps underneath with a cap, and 1 big amp on the front. Works pretty good, I just wish my sub box wasn't so damn heavy everytime I want to get back there.

Depending on the size of the amp you can mount it under the back deck. That's where I had mine till i built the board. This summer gonna do something different the amps. I might build them into the sides of the trunk.

i have my box pushed all the way against the back seat and have my amps stacked with a simple home made amp rack in where the spair tire goes. i put some fiberglass over that with some neon tubes underneath, looks badass.

I have an amp board on my 95. Stock sub has been removed, and I have an MTX road thunder enclosure floating around in the back. The board has 2 400's + a 40 on it, and is mounted on the back (rear seat) partition in the trunk.

I just mounted mine in the factory spot. Just drilled some new holes, and it is all good. My 2 fit just fine
