Does anyone know if the passenger door handle light should light up with the same color as the driver side does during nighttime driving? I have the ambient lighting set to the color red. During the daytime both door handles, footwells, est; all light up in blue when a door is opened and go off when the door is closed. At night the ambient lights all are in red, except no color light comes on the passenger side door handle at all. Is there no ambient on the passenger side door handle or is just not working correctly?

It's not working correctly.

This was/is a common, wear type issue. There are threads here with part #'s listed, but last I recall, I believe I heard FMC stopped making them altogether a few years back. Not entirely sure.

Regardless, you'll have to change the entire loom in order to get just that one malfunctioning LED to sync properly with all the others.

If you can't find the part #, LMK, I'll head out to my garage and check my bag of parts and look for it and re-post.

Sure don't want to change the entire ambient wiring system for the one LED light. Thanks for your input.

It's not changing "the entire system", but more specifically the entire (one) wire loom found in that door.

Essentially you'd have to remove the entire interior door panel, then remove like one s.crew and four clip on type clamps.

Takes maybe about 45min. in total from door removal, wire loom removal, re-install new, replacement wire loom, and then re-install door panel. Maybe one full hour if you take a beer break or two.

Cheers!

It sounds like the wire for the red element of the RGB LED is open, or the LED itself is bad. If you won't want to replace the entire loom, or if the part is no longer available, you could just jumper the break in the wire or install a new RGB LED. With a multimeter it should be pretty easy to determine if the issue is the wire or the LED.

My ambient lighting refuses to stay set. The setting will last a few startup cycles but probably no more than three.

Only time mine seems to change is if the APIM gets reset. Are you noticing anything else resetting?

Unsure what the APIM acronym stands for; but only the lighting ever resets. All other items remain set. It's bizarre.

APIM is the module on the back of the display. It has the settings for radio station, fade/balance, phones, seat lumbar/massage, etc. If I change a setting with ForScan and reset the APIM, I often notice the Ambient Lights will shut off.
