i have a 96 sho with 105k
cams welded at 103k
i was told the engine is out of a 97 so i would imagine it has less miles than the clock says
so back in march i got a new alternator
i would have done it myself but the lack of space in the garage and the steps to remove it steps looked pretty hard and there was a lack of space in the garage
i call one shop and they tell me $500 and then tried to tell me my car isnt a v8 with all confidence
i laughed and told them i was all set
so i found another shop that knew what my car was and i paid $330 for them to put a new one in
2 days later my battery light is flashing and my lights are dimming so bad its like im a cop car on the way to an accident
that same night i got pulled over and the car came off the road (personal reasons)
so till this day it hasnt been back on the road but i start it at least once a week
since the car came off the road i wasnt able to bring it back to the shop to complain
i have a BRAND NEW battery i bought 2 days ago
light still comes on and flickers
i dont know if they replaced the belt or put the alternator tight enough for the belt
any ideas, comments, or suggestions?
im thinking maybe put a new belt on and make sure its all tight and good before deciding the alternator is crap
ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED

Make sure the small wire connector on the alternator is making good contact. Otherwise sounds like a bum alternator.

Like paul said.. make sure the connector (ring terminal) is tight.

also check.

Main power cable routing, it can if done incorectly will interfere with the belt (saw action)

Main power plug could be loose, wires have been known to pull out.

Main cable connection at the mega fuse panel, should be unrelated to the ALT install but I have seen all kinds of weird stuff
