Trying to finish up this 60K, while putting the wide belt on (AC, and Alt), I noticed that the beads in the pulley started falling out. Without them in, the pulley seems very loose on the tensioner. What are these beads for, and can I salvage this pulley by simply putting them back on, or do I need another one? This is the last hold up, before I can put this car back on the road, thanks!

You must be talking about your 95MTX AC/Alt acc belt tensioner pully. If so those 'beads' are the ball bearings! There are two rows of them spaced by a plastic retainer, covered by a plastic&metal dust seal. If the ball bearings are falling out the pully bearing was gone awhile ago! SHONUT is the only place I know that sells new NSK bearings as no other one will fit. Press out the old, press in the new one OR go to a junk yard that has an SHO in it. They use the same bearing on all MTX & most ATX idler/tensioner pullies.

Speaking of belt tensioning pulleys! The nut walked off of the one on the right (same one this thread's about?) So, the quesion is: Would I beable to "borrow" the nut off a spare left-hand pulley? My SHO's about 15 miles away from home, and I just thought I'd ask before doing a bunch of driving tomorrow (monday) to try it out. I'm sure the bearing in the pulley itself is fine, I just need that nut.

Yes it's the 95, keep forgetting to mention that! When I removed the pulley, that dust seal was torn so yeah it must've been done awhile ago. Will a SLO's idler tensioner pulley work as well?

$100 for a friggen pulley? Not to mention I've gotta pull it off the motor myself. On the plus side, this yard has FIVE SHO motors, which is probably the only motors left near NYC.
