Hopefully this isn’t to ignorant of a question, but I’m not much of an electrical guy at all and I bought my car with the alarm and know nothing about it! (yes I’ve "searched")It all of stopped working, when I try to "alarm" it, the doors just lock. I did notice that the LED lights up whenever the doors are opened and I turn the ignition off. I was just hoping this is a common occurrence and someone had an easy answer.....fuse or something. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it's in Valet mode.
I would have to agree, look for a switch under the dash that you can flip. I had one before but i had to turn the key to the on position, right before you can crank it and let it sit for about 5-10 seconds, then flip the switch to get it out of valet mode.

I would be careful with that alarm, I had a 94 with a factory alarm, and it kept malfunctioning so many times and stranding me that I finally had it removed, and I don't miss it. I heard it's a common problem on Ford alarms.

This is an aftermarket alarm I believe its from Alpine ??? I am the only one who drives it and Im quite positive that there were no switches being touched, it just happened all of a sudden. Thanks for the input!
