I found a donor car. It is an '89 with damage to the upper and lower radiator supports. In desperate need of a 60K, leaks like a pig, but runs great and shifts great after I fixed the broken shift cable. $550 and it made it 405 miles back to Arizona with no problems. Even the AC works and it has R12 in the system.

The drivetrain, seats and lower body cladding are being transferred to this.

They both look like nice cars.
A 1990 wagon with Sandlewood interior.
Seems a waste for the 1989 but a great project.
I have a 1994 LX wagon with 3.0 and MTX.
How ever I did not do the conversion.
My current transplant is an RX7 convertible.

I am with you about not wanting to scrap 89's but this one looks way better in those pictures than in person. Open the hood or look under it and you can see the damage. It travels down the highway with its rear end about 4 inches offset from the front.

Are you going to use the SHO front bumper? Any plans for molding the rear on?

Yes to both questions. With fog lights. I have it in my mind how the rear will be done. I am stil contemplating if I can do it myself or take it to an expert in plastic/fiberglass body panels.

Wow I like this build. Something like a wolf in sheep clothing. Sounds like best donar car for situation. Rest of car that you don't use can help keep others on the road and improve others. Take lot of pictures. Maurice

Another exciting build! Are you gonna keep the 3.0 stock, or slap some other goodies on it to make it terrifying?

Definately goodies! This one is modification central!
The black 89 I got from Toolman is just too nice to mod and I need to mod some SHO!

What were you thinking? How about the first boosted sho wagon?!?!

When you put it like that I have no other choice than to boost it. Probally go the easy route, since boost is new to me, and get the Sho Source kit.

Damn I'm convincing, now if only I could talk you into a RWD conversion :naughty: I'm going to enjoy other peoples blood sweat and tears from the comfort of my keyboard now. Have fun :munch:
