Brought the issue to my dealer and a fuse had blown, they went through all the wiring and didn't find any shorts. Checked in teh dash, under the hood and under the seat.

The owners manual says to bring it to the shop to have the computer clear the light indicator, save yourselves time and look for the blown fuse;)

As long as it's still under warranty, they can do the work. The next time this may happen to someone, it may be worse than just a fuse.

Agreed, and besides as much as a PITA to get at the fusebox, let the dealer do it. So far it is probably my only real complaint with the Taurus, the interior fusebox is in a poor location to access.

even more so when the dealer's alarm guy zip ties the alarm control box to the top of the fuse box. :madflame:

I've got a 2012 SHO with 4500 miles and mine stayed on for three days without fail. I slammed my horn on the fourth day to move some sleep-at-the-wheel artist and on the next restart of the airbag light was off, and been off for over two weeks.

Brings up another interesting point... about a month ago, I'm tooling down the freeway and get cut off, and slam my horn at that time. A few minutes later, I hear what appears a horn going off . I figured it must've been the idiot that cut me off looking for some retaliation/road rage. Whatever, I lower my radio down so I can hear it closer. It's MY horn going off!! I hit the horn again and sure enough, the horn stops. I'm not crazy, it was the craziest thing I'd ever experienced.

Anybody else had either one of the nuances?

There is a newer TSB related to this and may apply to your situation.

11-10-7

INTERMITTENT AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR - DTCS B0028, B1213 WHEN PASSENGER CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT COMMANDED ON

ISSUE:
Some 2010-2011 Taurus and MKS vehicles may exhibit an intermittent air bag warning indicator on with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B0028 and/or B1213. This may be caused by radio frequency (RF) interference created by the climate control seat system when the passenger climate control seat is commanded on, turning on heated or cooled function. If the seat is not commanded on in a subsequent key cycle, the air bag warning indicator will not illuminate because the fault is not present, but the codes from the key cycle where the fault was detected will be stored in the restraints control module (RCM).

Hope this helps!

I just returned from the dealer with this diagnosis. My airbag light has come on twice. The first repair attempt was a replacement of the passenger seat belt. The dealer stated the TSB requires replacing a jumper cable, which had to be ordered.

Anyone have a copy of this TSB?

Thanks

I have recently purchased on '11 SHO and have noticed that the airbag light is coming on and off intermittently. It has happened both with people in the passenger seat (not children) and when I am the only one in the car. I have been using the climate control but have not watched to see if it is linked. I will do that today.

Has anyone brought in their car for the TSB listed above and had it correct this issue?

thx
