My guess would be not, the open air filters make a bit of turbo noise.
The blow off valves are more audible with the intake, I personally have them still routed (not VTA) and can easily hear the blow off valve. Many others are reporting the same.

In regards to the dyno test, I responded to this test on the other forum linked below. While the dyno test against the Windstorm was done by the competitor who makes the intake, every dyno test with the MDesign was done by enthusiast from across the nation at unbiased and disattached shops. As you can see in the reply to the post, the MDesign intake outperformed the Windstorm/AirRaid intake. We also beat K&N as well, video and information also linked below.

We have more dyno tests come this spring and also track testing as well as soon as the weather warms up here in Michigan.

AGREED 1000%!!! I have MDesign with 3M Heat wrap inside the carbon fiber tube so there is no heat soak - never really was in the 1st place since it's a completely enclosed system! Lastly, stay tuned - MDesign is constantly doing R&R and I'm sure they will come out with new products / upgrades soon just like everyone else does.

I have read a lot on the intakes. I am still up in the air leaning towards an insulated and sealed Windstorm. I have seen only one thread where the insulated airraid/windstorm vs the MDesign, the Windstorm had better numbers. The two were then ran at the track and again the windstorm (insulated and sealed)had better times. I am more interested in the numbers under the curve, not just the peak highest hp or tq the CAI put out. Would the modded windstorm also have the best numbers under the curve and not just peak? Thanks for any info, looking to get a CAI soon.....

Excellent video that's awesome!!!

There's another member on here think it's Rich that took 3 or 4 CAIs to the track: K&N, Windstorm, MDesign, and stock air box - guess what happened? All 4 were very near identical in 1/4 mile times! I'm talking like 0.01 difference. But they all make different noise. Only thing you get with aftermarket CAI for our cars is sound.

I agree it's all about personal preference on brand and how much you wanna spend.
