Air bag light is flashing an error that the front primary crash sensor (above the radiator) is open. I replaced it with the one off of my 94MTX, but it's still flashing the code. Maybe the computer needs to be reset to realize the change (not sure how to do this)? I've heard from other fellow members here on the forum that the problem may be caused by a faulty diagnostic monitor. Where is this monitor located? Is it an easy task to do a swap?

if you open the glove box all the way(letting it hang down to the floor)to the right you should see a blue box...thats the box your looking for,if you change it make sure you disconnect the battery and leave it that way for at least a half an hour before you even touch anything...if that doesnt do it then its probably your clockspring in the column...which is what i think your problem may be anyway...how many times does the light flash??

The air bag light is blinking code 4-2: Primary Crash Sensor #2 Feed/Return Circuit - Open. I was told this translates to: Center Radiator Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open. Not sure, but what is the clockspring? I can take parts as needed from my 94, which never had airbag system problems. Thanks for the help!

A code 42 has absolutely nothing to do with the clockspring.

The fault will be one of the following:

Sensor
Wiring harness (open circuit)
Diagnostic monitor module

Get the service CD and follow the exact diagnostic procedure, including observation of all warnings.
