the airbag light will flash a code - a certain number of blinks, a pause, another number of blinks, then repeat over and over. what is that code?

airbag code 42 is the center radiator crash sensor open circuit - either you have a bad connection there or the sensor is bad.

as you might expect, the center radiator crash sensor is located at the center of the radiator, on the top, under the black plastic piece that holds the various labels.

the noise from the belt area could be a bad bearing in any of the pulleys or wp or alternator. best way to find it is to pull off the belt and spin them one at a time.

I had that same noise you describe, it ended up being my water pump, which I just installed the day before :(
