Aiming headlights

Whats the best way to aim your headlights? I can never get them correct.

Are you referring to the direction you should aim them or the physical adjustment of the light's alignment?

Direction, I always end up with them pointing into the trees or lighting up the ground 5 feet in fron of the car.

to correctly aim your headlights, they must be adjusted while in highbeams.
