Hi, after years working on this project im getting somewhere, the car is a 67 ford osi, rare Italian car, Ive got the 90 sho motor in and running using a adapter and the 5.0 bellhousing and t5 transmission, Im trying to wire the original tach to the sho pcm, the original tach triggers off coil negative, Ive got the trigger wire connected to pcm terminal #4. it isn't working, I have also bought one of those boosters but still nothing, has anybody wired a aftermarket tach into a first gen sho. This is driving me crazy, ive run codes on it and everything is good except for the things that im not using power steering, purge cannister, brake on brake off, are the only codes I have showing. I checked the voltage at term #4 and theres .1-.2 volts running
any help would be great

Do you have a 1990 EVTM manual that has all the circuits? If you are trying to use the tach from the OSI-Ford, probably incompatible.

Nice!...

I am running my Auto Meter tach off a wire from the DIS.
Off hand do not recall the pin # or color. I did find the info here when I installed it.

Thanks for the response
There's ways to get it to work if I could get a signal from the pcm, I have seen that post. But pin 4 at the pcm or pin 12 at the icm isn't giving me a signal. Icm has been checked and is good

Steve, you have the right hookup. Here's the wire for my shift light on my old '90:

It should work. So you might have a bad camshaft sensor as that knocks out the tach. You should have a code 19 if so. Here are some tests you can do:

Run the tests described for the DIS.

Changed the Cam sensor. Had the did checked at primary. I have no bad codes. I'll run the test I think maybe the icm is bad although it runs ok

ICM = Integrated Control Module = DIS which is what I think you had checked per your last message.

If you mean the main computer (ECU / PCM), you would need a B9B1 or L0S one of these:

I have a xj2 in there, yes I meant pcm. Not sure why Im getting nothing at the icm wire. It runs good. No codes like I said. I may disconnect the icm wire at the pcm and see if a test light blinks off I the icm wire
