Question for all those who have added a remote start. Do both gray/yellow ignition wires or otherwise known as ignition #2 and #3 have to be hooked up? If so how is it done? I can get everything else done but this is the last part. Thanks for any help.

Actually the grey with yellow stripe is a accesory wire, along with the black with green stripe. The red with green stripe is the ignition. Accesory wires still show 12vdc when switched and open when at off.

Actually, all of your ingition wires need to be hooked up for the car to start....just a little FYI the ignition wires are bigger awg than all of the other wires. Also, there is a secondary accessory that everyone seems to overlook....this accessory controls the Electronic Climate Control, if you dont hook it up you will have no heat or no A/C until the key is in the ignition.

If I were you I would install a mercury switch instead of a hood pin switch....buts that just my $.02

Ok thanks for all your help so far. I do agree on the mercury tilt seems a lot easier in the long run. Here is my confusion. A while back this was posted about the wireing
Remote Starter Wiring Colors For 1992-94 Ford Taurus

Start: WHITE/PINK
IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Ignition #1: RED/LIGHT GREEN
IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Ignition #2: GRAY/YELLOW (14 AWG)
IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS **

Ignition #3: GRAY/YELLOW-2WIRES
IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS **

Accessory: BLACK/LIGHT GREEN
IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Brake Light: RED/LIGHT GREEN (+)
SWITCH ON BRACKET ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL

Tach Signal: TAN/YELLOW, WHITE/PINK
OR GRAY/ORANGE IGN. SWITCH HARNESS *
This is where I got the info on the gray with yellow. So if these are actually accessory wires does that mean there is only one starter wire? Sorry but this is the first I have ever done and still a learning process. Thanks again everyone.

you only need one ignition and that is the red with green stripe, the yellow heaviest gauge wires in the harness is your constant. on your relay satillite harness you will have two red wires, these are your constant inputs be sure to tap only one into each constant ( you will find 4 of them) the only starter wire is the white with pink. horn output is yellow with green in the column, and parking lights is brown at the head light switch. for the door locks, i dont remeber what wires trigger them or if its a 5 wire system or not. you will also need to hook up wires to the cold side of the brake switch, ground, dome light supervison (opt.), trunk release (at switch), and possibly alarm disarm. your hood switch isnt needed for operation, however it may be regulated, if you dont want to use in just connect this wire to ground, or go with the merc switch. for tach. go directly to the tan with yellow right at the coil, there will be two wires that can be used. be sure all underhood connections are soldered and taped or heat shrinked, and make sure all wires are loomed and taped up. all inside connections can be made with scotch locks.

Well things are going well. About half way through. Of course the hardest part is up next. Quick question. For the tach wire you said right at the coil. Where is this? Thanks again.
