They Do Ron, but I cant say. There are too many people jumping on the bandwagon to sell parts already. One even told me that he would borrow a car to test stuff so he can sell cheap without having to buy one.

I really don't see much of an aftermarket in the near future. When you consider research, start up costs, production costs vs the size of the market, it's probably cost prohibitive. Down the road though, once the GTDI class of engines takes a firm hold, I can see a strong aftermarket there. We're at the dawning of a new era here. Ford has a 2.0 GTDI engine in the works. You also have to take into account that the auto makers are currently hanging on by the skin of the teeth. R&D is on the back burner. All we can do is sit back and see.

Since the motor in the new SHO is being used in more vehicles than the SHO, the aftermarket should be paying more attention. The original SHO motor was only used in the SHO. I can see why aftermarket was slow to adopt since the numbers were low. The new motor is being used on a larger scale. Therefore there should be a higher demand. I am strickly speaking of engine mods (larger turbo's, engine tunes, internals, etc...)

probably alot has too do with voiding warranty at this point. Unless Ford Racing has some go fast parts/non warrant voiding parts I would think performance wise it will take some time. Cold air intake is also an easy upgrade even though sometimes its just for ***** and giggles.

Suspension and brakes would be the first upgrades as you can always swap that stuff out fairly quickly when it needs to go to the ford house.

I think the rule is you can never have enough brakes. Bigger is better. I think some lowering kits would make this car look bad ass.

Maybe some racing seats. I guess its what you want to get out of the car. For me I would yank out weight.....but this car was design also for comfort.

I'd love to have one with a/c, power windows and a single disc cd player and that would be it. Give me manual seats. Yank out about 700 lbs of creature comfort and give me a screamer.

On our Gen 2 Lemons car I don't know what the thing weighs but the car screams after being gutted out. I think the less weight was what the Yammy was designed for.

Anyway I'm rambling after sipping on some cough meds fighting some swine.

Piece out. yes I mean piece. :)

I was pretty shocked when I found out how much it weighed. My buddy said it weighs more than his pickup. I too feel that it sits a bit high, but I like the rake of it. I'd hate to compromise the ride in order to lower it though. The brakes are fine for all around street use, but I haven't taken it down a winding road and let it stretch its legs. My two main issues are that I wish it had a bit more rumble to it and some instrumentation. It's just too grocery getter with just a fuel and temp gauge. An A pillar mounted boost gauge would be really cool. The only thing I can see myself doing to it is catbacks. Just a hint of power underneath is what I'm looking for. I did the inverse on my '03 mach, kept the catbacks and put on Bassani mid-length headers and an off-road X pipe. It sounds waaaaay cool, especially when you wind it up just a little bit.

Yeah, with a new body/platform and a new engine, I would also be leery of voiding the warranty until some time goes by and any weak area pop up.

Within a couple weeks of buying my new '89 SHO, I mentioned to a few folks that this is the heaviest body that the Yamaha V6 should ever be put in. I never understood the desire to put it into a wagon.

Mark Nunnally proved that a number of years ago when he had a basically stock V6 in a lighter (3,000 #s or so) '89 and ran low 14s.

I don't think it's as much of an issue with the torque that the Ecoboost provides, as a simple tune gets 12s.

I have GT500 brakes if someone want to come over and wrench for a little while. Car will soon be down for the winter. I'd like to know as well, if I buy the SHO, if I can keep em. That would be nice.

I did some extensive searching before I bought my new SHO and I couldn't find anything on ebay or any other site worth a darn. I hope this stuff picks up. I'm never one to settle for the status quo, so I'm gonna want my SHO to have the best the aftermarket has to offer.
