So heres the deal! I Am having problems with and Kenwood amp. Think its like a 1200 watt. I had it in my car earlyer this spring and it worked fine then i took it out and didnt use it up until today when i tried to put it back in, Now it will shut off when it has any bass and then it turns back on and keeps doing it untill i have the radio turned down. I thought it was a lack of power or bad ground so i hooked it to a bigger batterie and it was hooked to it directly without the car batterie. Then just ran the remote wire to the positive since all it is is 12v. But it still does it. I am running the stock radio with an adapter that splices into the speaker wires and downgrades the power to rca levels. And the amp powers 2, 12 inch subs. Hope it something simpel or is my amp junk??
Thanks
Nick

Kenwood amps do that. Even in their home theater stuff. Either It's overload protection is kicking in or it's detecting distortion from the head unit. In either case, you'll need to turn something down...probably the amp.

Only their high end amps can be bridged under 4 ohm, and also they are waaaayyy over rated for wattage. Without actual product info, lets assume you are running too low of an ohm for that amp, and its finally caught up with you.

The amp is turned all the way down and u cant even hear it in the car, and i dont have a head unit its jus the stock radio withe the adapter that splices into the speaker wires and downgrades the power to rca levels.
