Got home from a weeks vacation last night. Came out today to start my 2014 SHO and it was DEAD, totally dead! had to jump start it with the wife's 2013 Edge. Took it for a 20 minute ride and the air bag light stays on, the Sony touch controls don't illuminate or function, the touch screen won't turn off the radio or control the climate controls, heated / cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and to top it off it's 78 degrees today and the heater is blowing and won't shut off either. I had to reprogram the phone and bluetooth through the touch screen but that's all I can do. I got back home and restarted the car with the same results.

Disconnect the battery, charge it to full (or just replace it, once a lead-acid battery discharges for too long, it's a goner). Reconnect to the car.

This is the second time I've read a new thread here about the exact same thing - the low voltage scrambles the electronics. And it stays that way.

I don't think we ever heard back from the other guy, so I'll be curious how it turns out for you.

New battery 4 sure. Make sure you get an AGM in there, Motorcraft Tough Max 850, or Odyssey, or Sears DieHard, Autozone/Advance Auto etc. If you have a 650CCA battery in there, that is no good for a SHO.

I have an Optima Red Top, 800 amp. I really like it, though the stock hold down wouldn't work without really stretching the cables tight. I made a new one to alleviate that issue.

Once you have a low battery you will get continual annoyances until you purchase new fully charged battery. Stock is 650cca but I read the 850cca is same size just 10 lbs heavier, a must do. Also have to do a reset with MYSINC. I forget how but you can Google it. Good luck, update when done...

Agree with new battery. When mine started going out, I got numerous messages about shutting off the entertainment system to conserve the battery, and finally it would not come on, even though the car started fine. I put in a Sears AGM battery, and have had no problems since.

Thank you all. I recharged the battery that was in the car last night and drove the car today doing errands without any issues. Tonight I went to Sears and purchased a new battery Die Hard Gold 860CCA. Installed it and the car starts like nobody's business and all functions properly. With a New England winter coming it was the right choice to just get the new battery. Thank you all again for the help.

My 14 had original battery and I need to continually clean the post. Could this be a leaking battery?
Starts and runs fine but I live in Michigan and is about to turn cold here.

Do you normally put dielectric grease on the posts and felt pads between the terminals and the body of the battery? I would try that first and if the issue continues, replace the battery. Battery cases do crack, but not usually at the posts.
