Well, it all started :cue flashback:

I changed my pass. side caliper & bracket due to a OEM frozen one, and after the install I bled the front brakes to get rid of some nasty old fluid.

Well ever since then I have had a semi mushy pedal. When the car is off, i pump the brakes to build up pressure and they turn rock hard, but there is still almost a 1/2" of play in the pedal before it goes hard. Ever since then, I also havn't been able to lock up the brakes, I go from varying speeds and do a double footed stop - burying the pedal - and while the car still slows quickly I don't like the fact that I CAN'T lock them up...

Items checked so far:
- Re-bled system, felt fine for a little bit then went back to mushy
- Re- tightened front brake lines and bleeder valves
- Have been checking for fluid leaks on driveway and finding nothing..
- Rear brakes were never bled because the bleeder screws were rusted to the assembly and didn't want to risk breaking them.

Now, I DO NOT have ABS as it was never installed on my car

Anyone have any leads on what this could be?? Obviously the master cylinder comes into mind ... anything else that I havn't checked??

Non-sho (would check TCCA but they don't like me anymore :D -- ever since I kicked Tom out hehehehehe)

Brake booster, I will check

***Edit***

After looking through the bible and seeing what exactly I have to do to get to the Brake booster it seems like such a PITA to do ..... might just say fak it and get a rebuilt MC and brake booster for like $100 and not have to worry about it anymore ...

Not that im doubting my mechanical prowless, but this one is a bit more than what I want to deal with...

Well after careful inspection of the car .... well not really, its more like pump the pedal to see where the puddle is, I came to a grim realization that about a 12" section of my brake likes just before the drivers side wheel well is rotted out ... not sure if its the return line or not, but .....

time to go get those replaced.. headbang cuss
